Banks of the Thérain in Montataire

Paths have been laid out for pedestrians and cyclists along the banks of the river "Thérain", crossing the town and linking the Forges roundabout to the Prieuré park. This pleasant walking area, freely accessible all year round, allows us to discover a variety of spaces, sometimes wild, sometimes playful with a children's playground in rue Ambroise Croizat, or sometimes sporting, such as along rue André Ginisti, where the Montataire Canoe-Kayak Club has set up doors for kayaking. This club also offers canoe-kayak hire for a day or half-day to discover the beauty of the Thérain banks further upstream from Mouy or Cirès-les-Mello. Despite its rather urban environment, the trails along the banks of the Thérain allow us to find ourselves in a natural area just a few steps from the town centre. To eat by the water, you can picnic on the tables and benches set up on Avenue de la Libération or enjoy the good food at the restaurant L'Eden on Rue André Ginisti, at the entrance to the Parc urbain du Prieuré.
For a longer walk or cycle ride, you can continue the walk along the cycle path to Magenta or take the dirt track from the city park that leads to the wood between Thiverny and Cramoisy.
